Resurrection Restoration Center for the Homeless has been serving the community for over 12 years. We initially served as a crisis shelter for the mentally ill homeless in Florence and surrounding areas. We later began to focus on disabled homeless veterans. Our program then began to operate as a transitional program that took in all manner of homeless. After assessing the needs of the community, our program began to include emergency services for homeless families and individuals. We provided shelter, food, clothing, limited transportation, and faith-based counseling as part of our services. As the years have gone by, we have experienced changes in the services we offered based on the needs of the community. Our goal is to respond to the gaps in services. There are now other programs that help the homeless veterans, the mentally ill, and families. With that in mind, we are now focusing on what we feel is a gap in service provision in Florence and surrounding areas. RRCH has established a 12 year track record of working effectively with some of the most challenged homeless persons and families in Florence. Moving forward, we are working on establishing a more secure facility. It is our plan to have separate buildings for families, men and women. We are currently working with a committee of professionals to create a strategic plan to make our program the best it can be.
